Evaluations
Let’s start with an evaluation to get a snapshot of your child's communication skills. We will use a variety of methods to learn about your child’s strengths and challenges, including:
Questionnaires, parent interviews, and observations
Standardized assessments and informal testing
Review of home videos (when available)
Based on your child’s evaluation results, we will work together to write therapy goals and introduce helpful language strategies that you can start using at home right away.
OUR APPROACH TO THERAPY
At Inspire Connections Therapy, your child will feel welcome, accepted, and included as soon as they walk in the door! We work on speech therapy goals during your child’s favorite activities, and follow their lead to keep them engaged. Sessions may look like:
Playing on the floor with toys
Engaging in preferred sensory activities
Moving and doing hands-on learning tasks
At the end of each session, we will provide you with ideas for practicing communication skills in your daily life. We also collaborate with other adults in your child’s life to holistically support their learning needs.

Gestalt Language Processing
ECHOLALIA • SCRIPTING • NATURAL LANGUAGE ACQUISTION (NLA)
Gestalt Language Processing is a language learning style which involves using delayed echolalia or scripting to communicate. We will acknowledge your child’s scripts, create an environment where they can learn more, and guide them as they move through the stages and start using new language. Our neurodiversity-affirming speech therapy services will help your child:
Confidently communicate in their own unique way
Gain the skills they need to use novel language
Convey a variety of messages (requests, protests, comments, etc.)
We will also educate your child’s team to find meaning in their scripts and support them as they grow to use original language.

We recognize that finding providers for Autism assessments can be difficult and often requires a long wait. We are partnering with other providers in the area to bring you a comprehensive assessment. We approach these evaluations as a multidisciplinary team, allowing us to gain a holistic view of your child. We will provide a comprehensive report and personalized recommendations that give you the knowledge you need to support your child.
